Herne the Hunter (Green tie-dye)

28.55

This design is taken directly a motif that forms part of a huge silver cauldron found in a peat bog in Gundestrum, Denmark. The artwork is Celtic and though we don’t know exactly where it was made, it is known to be over 2000 years old. See here for more info. In British lore, Herne the Hunter is a god of vegetation, vine, and the wild hunt, and is a manifestation of Cernunnos, the Celtic horned god.  Hand dyed and screen printed.
